No elephants in the Elephant Museum ...

National Museum is different from Monas... do you know?

Many people wrongly think National Museum as Monas. I'm one of them * admit* .... Monas is National Monument. Although both places adjacent, but clearly different.
National Museum of Indonesia
According to museum's guide, a lot of people get wrong like me, so the National Museum better known as Museum Gajah (Elephant Museum). Is it because the museum holds an elephant? Surely not. The term comes from a bronze elephant statue in front of museum building.

Elephant Museum: an archeological, historical, ethnological, and geographical museum of Indonesia
For those who like or don't like history, National Museum is a must-visit destination in Jakarta. The collection was outstanding! Exploring the room after room in the National Museum will make you amazed. How luxurious an Indonesian royal lives in the past.

Little part of archaeological collection
This museum houses collections of archaeological heritage, history, ethnology, and geography from all over Indonesia, in huge quantities, and conditions are very well maintained.

Complete collection of traditional musical instruments from Java and Bali
Ethnical heritage from all over Indonesia
Another large number of archaeological collection on inner courtyard
In addition to the collection of historical relics of this museum, there is a beautiful sclupture on the front yard. Although not a relic of the past, but the artwork is very beautiful ....

What a wonderful world...
