Seoraksan is the third highest mountain in South Korea. And one of the most beautiful regions in South Korea, which is rich with a lot of rare plants and animals. Seoraksan was recognized as UNESCO Biosphere Protection Site. ... and the beauty of Seoraksan doubled when autumn arrives ...
Seoraksan National Park
There are many paths to get to Seoraksan, the most popular is through the main entrance of Seoraksan National Park, near Sokcho city, about 3.5 hour bus ride from Seoul.
Seoraksan National Park Entrance
Despite being in the mountains, but this national park provides a selection of walking tracks according to ability, the easiest one is only loitering around the main park and ride the cable car to Gwongeumseong top, or mild tracking toward Biryeong waterfall (비룡 폭포), or heavier track to Ulsanbawi top (울산 바위), or the most difficult track to Daecheongbong top, which takes about 2 days.
Big Buddha statue at Seoraksan National Park
Originally I was planning to take the lightest track to Biryeong waterfall, but because of magnetize scenery, and follow the direction of most people, I eventually moving to the tracking path towards Ulsanbawi ^^

Sinheungsa Temple
Heundeulbawi (흔들 바위) is a large stone, approximately 5m height, seating on top of another bigger rock cliff. Many people try to push this rock, but nobody could make it move.

Kyejoam Seokgul, temple and hermitage inside big rock
Ulsanbawi located about 3 km from the entrance of Seoraksan park, and half of that distance are quite a heavy trail. But the incredible views along the way make this struggle worthed! Ulsanbawi itself is a white rock formations on top of the mountain, its huge and simply beautiful.
Ulsanbawi rock peak
To enjoy the view of Ulsanbawi rock can be done from a viewing platform, located right below the Ulsanbawi rock, which is another large stone, relatively flat but in tilted position, and protrudes above the valley. To stand in this viewing platform alone needs some guts, especially for those who are afraid of heights ^^ But the view from this place .... can't described with words, 360 degrees of breathtaking scenery...
